East Bavaria Show 2022
Finally and yes, you read correctly that the Gäubodenvolksfest takes place on:

My tips for the Gäubodenvolksfest look are:
Have your hair braided. If you are blonde, then a dirndl in pink or light blue would be perfect for you. If you like it rockier and like heavy metal, then the heavy metal dirndl would be great for you. If you don't like dirndls or lederhosen, then get a shirt from Bayrisch Wild from Regensburg. Shoes, very important. Put on shoes that you can really celebrate with.
Visiting the Gäubodenvolksfest:
- Look where you can stay overnight in Straubing, because believe me the evenings will be long.
- The people of Lower Bavaria know how to celebrate, whether in traditional costume or not.
- Reserve a table at Krönner tent.
- The Krönner tent is iconic and is actually the most beautiful.
- They have the best drinks and very good food there.
- It's best to get some spare change.
- Tip the waitress.
- If possible, practice pronunciation of Bavarian words like “Geibonvoiksfest”.
- Try to speak in dialect.
- Drink more than one pint of beer.
Special features in Straubing:
- Visit the Gäuboden Museum
- Be sure to try an Agnes Bernauer slice at Cafe Krönner in Straubing. Right on the town square.
- What I love about Straubing is the town square with the beautiful town tower.
